About Us What's with the DOG? (The Story behind CAVE CANEM) About 200 years ago, the ancient Roman city of Pompeii was excavated after being destroyed by a volcano thousands of years earlier. During the excavation, a beautiful mosaic was found of a black dog with the caption reading "Cave Canem" (Latin for "Beware of Dog").
We believe this ancient CAVE CANEM mosaic is a lasting monument to misplaced priorities. CAVE CANEM CONSULTING was founded in 2003 by Todd Hedgcoth. The firm's focus on Mortgage Banking was borne out of Todd's years of experience in the mortgage banking world. He began his career as a Business Analyst and Trainer for a mortgage technology provider. During that time, Todd worked with his mortgage clients to configure and implement effectively a large Mortgage Loan Servicing System.
After recognizing his passion for client service, Todd joined a "Big 5" consulting firm a few years later. While at Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting), Todd served his clients as a Senior Manager in all areas of the Financial Services Industry, while maintaining his focus on the Mortgage Banking Industry.
After 10 years with Accenture, Todd used his experience with mortgage banking clients as well as his expertise in project management and consulting to establish CAVE CANEM CONSULTING, a Management Consulting firm dedicated to serving clients in the Mortgage Banking Industry.
